How to select a back-up approver when the approver is away?
You can select back-up approvers in your profile to manage approval requests in your absence. There is ‘delegate approver’ that will get the request if you do not approve within a certain time or a ‘substitute approver” for set periods of absence.
Delegate approver:
- Access your profile by clicking on your name in the upper right corner, then select "profile"
- Select "Arrange and Approve" tab
- Under "Delegate Approvers", select "Manage"
- Search for and select approver name
- Click "Save"
Substitute approver:
- Access your profile by clicking on your name in the upper right corner, then select "profile"
- Select "Arrange and Approve" tab
- Under “Substitute approver”, select “Manage”
- Search for and select approver name
- Set the date when you will be away and send a copy to yourself for visibility if you wish
- Click “Save”
If you do not see these options in your profile, your travel manager first needs to enable them. If you see the option but cannot find the person you want to nominate in the list of approvers for your company, this is most likely because that person has not been given permission to approve. In this case, contact your Travel Manager.
